Life is short, and best lived when enjoyed.

For me, the pandemic was a reminder of this fact. There are no guarantees in life. And time spent worrying about the future, or vegging out on Netflix, is not time spent living in this moment.

There’s an old saying that life is what happens while you’re busy making plans.

I see many people, especially young people, who have had a rough experience over the pandemic. Many have become accustomed to isolation and pandemic-habits, which often involves letting time pass by on the couch.

After a year and a half, America is emerging from the pandemic. The virus isn’t totally gone, but the evidence indicates that our fantastic vaccines remain very effective.

I hope that many see this re-emerging as an opportunity to start a new chapter in their lives. Whether it’s family, personal, professional, or something else, we all need reasons to get out of bed in the morning. Whatever motivates you, it’s time to start seeing the possibilities.

This strange period has reminded us all not to take things for granted. We never know what might happen, so we’ve got to embrace life, grab onto opportunities, dream big, and seize the moment.
